Similarities:

Difference:

1. The two systems have different composition

Fluorescence quantitative PCR instrument has more fluorescence signal acquisition system and computer analysis and processing system than ordinary PCR instrument.

2. The principle of the two is different

Fluorescence quantitative PCR monitors the fluorescence excited by the fluorescent dye bound to DNA in real time, and ordinary PCR measures the amount of the final product of PCR by detecting the amount of the dye inserted into the DNA.

3. The response requirements of the two are different

Fluorescence quantitative PCR has higher requirements for amplifying fragments, generally 100-300bp, and ordinary PCR can amplify long fragments.

4, the two applications are different

Fluorescence quantitative PCR is mainly used to quantitatively analyze and determine the level of gene transcription. Ordinary PCR instruments are used for qualitative analysis and amplification of gene fragments. Quantitative PCR instruments can do the work of ordinary PCR instruments, but not vice versa.

5. The measurement cost of the two is different

Quantitative PCR instruments are relatively expensive, and ordinary gene amplification instruments (PCR instruments) can only qualitatively analyze the existence of target fragments. But the price is much lower, and the running cost is much lower.

Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR technology effectively solves the limitation of traditional quantitative only end-point detection, realizes the detection of the intensity of the fluorescent signal once in each cycle, and records it in the computer software, through the calculation of the Ct value of each sample, Quantitative results were obtained according to a standard curve.
